The first of this years Goodwood Breakfast clubs was the Soft Top Sunday theme. Thankfully we had lovely weather this morning which must have helped with the turnout and the drive down on quiet roads was rather enjoyable. Not many words from this point, just images.

When a Porsche Carrera GT is parked in the carpark, thats always a good sign of the quality of the event.

Welcome to Goodwood, where a Ferrari F430 can be parked next to a Pontiac Grand Prix

993 Fever.

I did clean my car before going. Wasn’t invited in but was in good company in the carpark with the Elan, and an M3 and F-Type which I had met on the run down.

Big chasing Little. Tiny Suzuki Cappuchino.

Austin Gipsey - Not a Land Rover.

Mclaren Ascot brought 5 different cars. Just because.

One group of Atoms. In total I counted at least 12 Atoms of different varieties

Lovely exposed shock assembly.

Yay, more S2000s. There were at least three of these championship white editions.

Yet more, because Goodwood nonsense. Lotus Elise, Citroen 2CV, Austin 7.

Land Rover forward control.

Atom, Piaggio Ape, Ferrari. Of course.

Much better than the BMW Logo.

Ultima Can Am. Awesomesauce.

5 Project 7 Jaguars made it. I didnt even know they made that many.

Was pretty good. I was just shocked at how busy it was. So many people there, and the circuit was packed from Woodcote to Madgwick. Looked nice in the sun too.

I’m thinking the same, I’ve never seen a CGT or a 340R in person before, so would’ve been good but never mind I’m at home watching football

We do get some odd cars over here. The UK has quite a few us air bases and they do tend to bring across some odd cars so I wonder if it came across like that. Seems a very odd car to specifically import otherwise

Is it just me, or is the Lotus 340R an Atom for hipsters. I can hear the conversation now: “So what do you drive?” “You’ve probably never heard of it. A Lotus 340R. It’s like an Ariel Atom but with bodywork. This car was doing the whole lightweight, no roof thing before it was cool.”

Don’t know if Europe got the last body style of the 300zx before US but that would definitely not be an 80's car over here. 1989 300zx just doesn’t look the same.

I attended the Goodwood Revival this year for the first time. When we rolled into a huge field being used as a parking lot, and parked our rented Jeep Cherokee in between a MacLaren MP4-12C and a fucking LaFerrari I knew we were in a very special place.

Not really. Boring here is exotic elsewhere. My uncle took me for a drive in an engineering example of a Camara in australia 6 years ago. Turned a lot of heads.

Not as many as when he got a suburban in the early 2000s. I remember wondering who in australia would buy a $90k SUV with that build quality when that was range topping landcruiser money.

Answer: Nobody.

Oh wow, thats not a pretty car. Shame as I always liked the earlier 300ZXs. I dont think we ever got that in the UK at least, I’ve definitely never seen one if we did.

Ha yeah, Máté seems to have crafted out a bit of a Jalopnik tradition of heading round the carparks for Members Meet or Revival, purely because the carparks at Goodwood are not like any where else on earth.

It’s dependent on traffic and driving style, but 40 mins or so is standard.

It is great to have it so near, the things I’ve seen there will eclipse anywhere else. Nowhere is as special as goodwood.

A friend has a really trick Atom out on the left coast. Takes it out all the time, mostly with his young son right seating. The kid loves it! Anyway, super cool dad, budding gearhead son, super cool car.
